Arrested in Kenya

When I came to Kenya in 2008, Pastor Dan picked me up from the Nairobi Airport. As we were driving to Nakuru we were pulled over at a check point. The police officer arrested me, putted me out of the vehicle, then asked me for a bribe to let me go. He asked me if I had $50 and I told him that I did but that the money I would give him would be taking money from the orphans that I can to feed. The charge was that I was not wearing a seat belt. Dan got on the phone and called the chief of police then handed the phone to the officer seeking a bribe and we were quickly let go. Well the tradition has continued this time except instead of me being arrested it was Dan, for a cracked windshield. The officer made us drive him to the police station and he got Pastor Dan alone and asked for $150 bribe. Dan refused, saying he is a pastor and cannot do that. We did not get off quite as well this time because the officer got made and formally charged him, refusing to admit in court that he tried to bribe Dan. Dan tried to use his phone to connect with his contacts but the phone would nor work.  We posted bail and were let go.  Please keep Dan in your prayers for the upcoming court date this Friday. Nothing is going to stop us. The devil would like to but the Bible says that no weapon formed against us shall prosper, and also that if God is for us, who can be against us. Thanks for your prayers. Jim (from Nakuru Kenya)

And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. 1 Corinthians 2:4-5
