Raising Money for your Mission Trip:
If the cost of this mission trip is out of your financial reach but you feel that God is calling you to go, you may consider reaching out to family, friends and associates to help fund your trip. This is a common form of fund raising for part and full-time missionaries, and it's amazing how God comes through with the needed finances when we step out in faith. Pray about this and ask God about how to communicate your needs (for example making calls, sending emails, or using social media such as FaceBook). If you have applied for and are accepted to attend a mission trip with us, Revival Harvest Ministry has a couple of ideas and tools that may assist you in raising funds. Be willing and open minded as you pray, because God may surprise you in showing other ways to meet your financial need. But here are a couple of tools/ideas from Revival Harvest Ministry for fund raising:
- Send an appeal using your normal way of communicating such as by email, regular mail, or FaceBook. Revival Harvest Ministry has a couple of Appeal Form Letters (see below) that you can use as a template to edit, re-write, or put into your own words.
- Revival Harvest Ministry has a secure payment processing system (On-Line) that will allow those giving towards your trip the ability to donate by credit or debit card or by using their checkiing account. To view how this works, go to our website at www.RevivalHarvest.Org and click on the "Donate" tab, then click "Mission Trip".
- Revival Harvest Ministry is an approved Non-Profit 501c3 organization, giving donors the potential to deduct their donations for tax purposes. The IRS has specific rules though for tax deductibility when donations are given for "a specific person" to go on a mission trip. If a donor does not care if their donation is tax deductible, no problem, they can donate to your specific name using our On-Line system, or they can write a check putting your name on the note section of the check. However, RHM has a procedure if a giver is interested in having their donation tax deductible. The procedure for tax deductibility is as follows:
- They can write you a check (or cash). If they do this they will need to complete and sign our "Mission Trip Donation Form" (see below) to send along with their donation. This form is listed at the bottom of this page and can be downloaded for printing or emailing.
- If they donate On-Line for your trip, the giver will have the option of chosing to get a tax deduction or not. The options and instructions are explained on our donation page when someone goes to make a donation on your behalf.
Below are links to the Template Letters and the Mission Trip Donation Form for you to download and print. Please contact us if you have other questions that may not be answered here. God bless you!
